Roles and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain database systems to support organizational data needs.
- Build and manage data pipelines and ETL processes using Databricks.
- Optimize and troubleshoot SQL queries and database performance issues.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to integrate Databricks for advanced analytics.
- Implement security best practices to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Monitor database health and provide regular maintenance to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Document database structures, ETL processes, and data workflows.
Technical Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 1+ years of hands-on experience working with Databricks in a production environment.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server).
- Familiarity with Apache Spark for big data processing.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, schema design, and ETL processes.
- Experience with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, especially in integrating Databricks.
- Ability to optimize complex SQL queries and manage large-scale databases.
- Knowledge of version control tools such as Git.
- Basic understanding of Python or Scala for data processing tasks.
Qualifications
- Experience with Delta Lake and handling structured and unstructured data.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for database and data pipeline deployments.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Databricks visualizations.
- Exposure to NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Cassandra.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
